Meet the Doctor
Dr. Rosina Cheung
Dr. Rosina Cheung received her Honours Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2006. She started her early career years in the beautiful Victoria, BC. In 2009, she decided to move back to GTA and has been serving the community since.
Dr. Cheung completed her ocular disease and therapeutics externship in Toronto, following prestigious retinal specialist, Dr. J. Cheskes, and cataract specialist, Dr. R. Stein, while she had extensive exposure to various ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataract and corneal diseases. Dr. Cheung also completed her externships at Hong Kong Polytechnic University where she focused on primary patient care, specialty contact lenses (e.g. Ortho-K), myopia management and paediatrics.
Throughout her optometric journey, Dr. Cheung has travelled to Guatemala, Peru and Nepal, to participate in humanitarian missions to provide primary eye care service and glasses to the underserved local community. She was also a proud member of the Toronto Pan Am Eye Care Team in 2015 to provide visual assessments and ocular emergency care for on-site athletes.
Dr. Cheung is trained for comprehensive eye care; however, she has special interests in myopia control and management in children and loves working with them.
In her spare time, Dr. Cheung enjoys yoga, classical music, baking and spending time with her little one. She can speak fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
